One of my favorite things to do is visit schools and meet with students. They are so enthusiastic and excited to have me speak with them – and they are also super talented and generous! So many students draw pictures for me and write notes. I love them all and keep them in my office. See below for just a few from these wonderful students.
Listen to me talk about the backstory of Unicorn Island, how my childhood helped me write magical stories, and an excerpt on Teaching Books! And here’s a fun recording of my name history and what I think of it.
I do many school visits and young readers ask the best questions. I’d thought I’d answer some here!
It’s so amazing to get these lovely surprises in my email from teachers and their students! It warms my heart to know young readers are touched by my stories. Mrs. Christie said her students love Unicorn Island so much that they decided to write me an opinion letter about it. Here it is in their words.
And check out some of my “Scribbles with Donna” videos where I share writings from when I was a kid!
Here’s a “thank you” to one of these schools and a look around my messy writing office!
Amazing student drawings!!
